This course is the second part of the bundle QISAP1NL + QISAP2NL. This combined bundle of the IBM i -System i Administration Condensed course and of the SAP on i course in 7 days instead of 10 days will allow you to learn the IBM i - System i as an administrator and how SAP is implemented on this i server.
IBM i - System i systems are a series of enterprise servers providing computing resources for advanced business and e-business applications. Gain a technical understanding of the IBM i - System i and develop basic administrators skills to use a IBM i - System i system in a business environment.
IBM i - System i offers a lot of opportunities to run SAP products. In this course you will also learn how SAP products are implemented on top of the native operating system of IBM i - System i and, through hands-on exercises, how to execute various system tasks such as starting and stopping applications, and how to automate these tasks.
Then you will learn how SAP deals with the database, directories, file structures, printing and java. You will learn to design and implement a backup strategy for SAP on i. We will also cover the features available on the IBM i that can be used to create a High Availability environment for SAP. And you will learn about the features of IBM that can be used to run multiple SAP and/or legacy environments simultaneously.
An SAP environment requires maintenance every now and then. That's why you will also learn how to perform maintenance of the SAP environment (kernels, for instance) and IBM i through kernel upgrades and installation of PTFs.
SAP is a complex (client-server) product with a lot of possibilities. Because of this, you will also learn how you can use the facilities of both IBM i and SAP to perform problem determination, tracing, diagnostics, performance analysis and tuning.
Attention : QISAP1NL PART1 is equal to the first four days of this course covering the IBM I -System I administration topics and QISAP2NL PART 2 is equal to the last three days of this course covering the SAP topics. Both workshops have to be followed.
